Metal Knights Comittee

The MKC is the Metal Knights Committee, its role is to follow what's going on in the MK World,
investigate suspected abuse or cheating. The MKC has the power to remove account privileges
if required to make sure the game remains a fun experience. The members are elected by the community.

Rules of Etiquette

These rules and penalties are guidelines written by the MKC that serves as the basis of the decisions of the MKC.

Use of a Cheat Program in the games

This offense gets no warning for first offense since any player that does it knows he is doing wrong to start with.

First offense - Server will immediately ban the use of the nick involved. If the player cooperates and sends the cheat program to Skyven for review, then the penalty to be served is a 2 week ban. Failure to cooperate results in a permanent ban.
Second offense - Permanent ban

Abuse of a bug in the game

This offense gets no warning for first offense since any player that does it knows he is doing wrong to start with. The MKC understands and recognizes the differance between one-time use (discovery) of a bug by players and abuse of a bug. I think the key word here is Abuse. That term alone allows us to make exceptions for the newbie that didn't know better. I don't think that needs to be clarified or expanded

First offense - 1 month ban of the nick involved + 500 point deduction
Second offense - 2 month ban of the nick involved + 500 point deduction
Third offense - indefinite ban Games affected by the bug will be deleted. Points that have been lost by other players due to this bug will be restored.

Point stacking

This offense gets no warning for first offense since any player that does it knows he is doing wrong to start with.

First offense - loss of all points gained through point stacking plus 50%
second offense- loss of all points gained through pointstacking plus 75%
third offense- loss of all points gained through point stacking plus 75%, and one month ban. fourth offense-permanent ban

2 Nicks in the same game

First offense - warning and loss of points gained + 10% of total points for both nicks.
Second offense - 500 point deduction on both nicks or 25% deduction on both nicks, whichever is higher . If the nicks do not have 500 points to lose, then the points will go back to 0. Game will be deleted as soon as possible if it is still running.
Third offense -permanent loss of player priveleges (ban)

Abusive language on the server mail

First offense - warning
Second offense - 2 week ban of mail priveleges
Third offense - 1 month ban of mail priveleges Note: This is the only infraction that will not prevent you from standing for MKC election.

Medal Swapping

The medal should be taken with a warning and released

to the player deserving if it's straight forward. or
back to the pool in the case it is undetermined.

In the case of a dispute the medal will be held by an MKC dummy nick until the case is resolved.

Second time offenders- loss of 100 points or 5% of total points, whichever is higher.

Theft of a player nick

(retired nicks put back in action)

The suspected thief should be contacted to find out how he got the use of the nick involved. If he cannot verify ownership or permission granted, then the stolen nick shall be locked until which time as the rightful owner contacts Skyven with proof of ownership.

Illegal exits / Hanging turns with "PROOF" of malicious intent /Locking Out

First offense - Warning with instructions on the proper way to exit a game. In the case of a lock-out no warning will be given (since it must be malicious they already know what they are doing and it will be posted as a rule.)
Second- 1 month ban (but current games allowed to finish) + 100 points deduction or 5% whichever is higher
Third-3 month ban (but current games allowed to finish) + 300 points or 15%, whichever is higher - permanent ban

Teaming up

Strategical teaming is not illegal. However, if 2 or more players and/or 2 or more alliances are joining the same games with the intention of playing as one team to gain an unfair advantage over one or more other players/alliances, this will be considered illegal and punishable.

It is highly suggested that if you are of a mind to forfeit a game, you porc up your base so that your actions will not be confused or misinterpreted as Teaming up on another player. Penalty

first time warning and game points taken.
second time- 10% of total score, for alliances a 25% penalty of their total points and 5 points from the leader.
third time- same with one month ban for all parties involved.

Harassment

first time warning
second time - one month ban for that reg alias + 500 point deduction
third time - three months ban + 500 point deduction
fourth time - permanent ban
